Tanzania Research and Conservation Organization (TRCO) is a non-profit organization established in 2021 by Tanzanian experts from different disciplines, and collaborate with international experts for biodiversity research and conservation.

The Tanzanian government has put a lot of effort and commitment to lift up tourism sector and protect the biodiversity resources through collaboration with private sector and local communities. However, the increasing human-wildlife conflict, illegal trafficking of wildlife resources, climate change, and conversion of natural habitat to cropland, grazing land, and settlement are major challenges facing conservation managers today in Tanzania. These challenges affect tourism and business sectors, of which the government of Tanzania depends on for its economy.

Tanzania Research and Conservation Organization (TRCO) is dedicated to join hand with the government through conducting research and provide conservation interventions. TRCO aim to focus on human-wildlife interactions; illegal trafficking of wildlife resources; climate change; land use changes; capacity building; and community livelihood enhancement for conservation of biodiversity in Tanzania.
